The Extended Run Players will present “Dear Liar” at 7 p.m. Oct. 25-26 and 2 p.m. Oct. 27 in J.E. and L.E. Mabee Library Auditorium as part of homecoming week, the artistic director said.
The play is based on a humorous exchange of letters between British playwright George Bernard Shaw and actress Lady Patrick Campbell, said Sister Germaine Corbin, artistic director for the Players who are based at the University of the Incarnate Word.
UIW theatre alum Mary Nell Costello will direct the play. Shaw will be played by Corky Cotrell in the period 1899-1914; Don Peterson from 1914-25; and Milo Kearney from 1925-1939. Campbell will be played by Mary Lou Hymel from 1899-1914; Jo Grabow from 1914-
25; and Lila Jean Potts from 1925-39. Bernadette Egly is the assistant director and Halen George will serve as stage manager.
Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $9 for seniors, $8 for non-UIW students with I.D., and $6 for groups of 10 or more. UIW students, faculty and staff can attend free with I.D., but may purchase a second ticket for a guest at the $8 discounted rate.
